If I start up Thunderbird + Lightning + gdata provider with Thunderbird in offline mode, then the Throbber throbs continuously, until I go back online and perform an interaction over the network.

This is distracting if I'm in offline mode for a period of time.

This could be related to bug 462305 - where the gdata provider seems to be trying to access the network even though its definitely not available.

Versions:

Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9.1b2pre)
Gecko/20081029 Lightning/1.0pre Shredder/3.0b1pre

Lightning/gdata version is nightly from the 27th.

Does this still happen? We usually assume the network is there and just pretend an error happened when the network is offline. I don't think this should cause the throbber to spin and maybe it should be fixed somewhere else?
This seems to be working fine on a test today with:

Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9.2.2pre) Gecko/20100330 Lightning/1.0b2pre Lanikai/3.1b2pre

So not sure what fixed this.
