When opening an attachment like a pdf or gif where there are several installed applications that can handle that type, the "Open with" drop down list only lists a single application (the system default).  All available applications for that type should be listed

I can confirm this is still true for Thunderbird version 2.0.0.18 (20081105). I have MS Office, OpenOffice, and ThinkFree Office installed. From Windows Explorer, all three appear under the "Open With" context menu, but a .doc attachment only shows ThinkFree Office in the Open With dialog.

I can confirm using Thunderbird 2.0.0.0.19 on a MacBook Pro, mac OS 10.5.6.  The "Download actions"  preferences window will not allow "open with' file types to be entered.  Attachments will open with OS defaults, but will not allow adjustments to be made via this dialogue.
