Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; ro; rv:1.9.0.4) Gecko/2008111217 Fedora/3.0.4-1.fc10 Firefox/3.0.4 Build Identifier: Mozilla Thunderbird version 2.0.0.17 (20081009) Hello, When one composes a new message (or replies to one) using plain-text, words may become bold if they are put between stars, *like that* . However, if the word between stars contains accented characters (Î've experimented with Unicode UTF-8 Romanian characters, like ș, ț, Ș, Ț, ă, Ă, â, Â, î, Î, €, ©, etc.), the word does not show in bold. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. In a Thunderbird plain-text composer window, in Windows or Linux, enter some text containing only English characters. 2. Put some words between stars, like *that*, to make them bold. 3. Send the message: note that the word between stars will appear in bold when message is view/rendered in Sent folder and at the recipient. 4. Repeat the experiment with words containing accented characters (Unicode UTF-8). 5. Note that the word doesn't appear in bold anymore. Actual Results: Plain-text words that contain UTF-8 accented characters are not bold when put between stars. Expected Results: Plain-text words that contain UTF-8 accented characters should be bold when put between stars.
