https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=411818 shows that Mime waited until just before shipping 3.0 before updating to that release.  I will try and ping.
https://developer.mozilla.org/en/Updating_extensions_for_Firefox_3.1 has good info on areas to check or make changes to for compatibility with fx 3.1
