I am using inline forwarding of messages. When I am forwarding specific email, body of the mail disappears. This happens only to emails which are in html format, charset is different from UTF-8 and have inline images (some logo pictures in body etc.) I am using UTF-8 as incomming charset.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. incomming charset set to UTF-8
2. forwarding set to inline
3. to have email in propper format
4. use forward email
Actual Results:
nothing is displayed in compose window (email body)

Expected Results:
display in compose windos (email body part) body of origin email

I am thinking, that this error has something to do with charset autodetection at forwarding. When I want to forward this "bad" email, I see, that charset of this email is choosen correctly (main menu View->Charset Encoding). But I can change this encoding to sometnig else and than change it back to original charset. And after this action inline forwarding is OK. Body will be filled with original email, but without this manual charset switching, body of forwarded email stays blank.
Tested on Thunderbid 2.0.0.9 - 2.0.0.16.
This happens everytime on specific emails.
Hi,
I've got the similar problem. When forwarding some messages an original text gets lost. For more info, please, see the attachments...

Hopefully you can see both a body of a message and a couple of files attached to the message.
As you can see, there's just an (html) signature attached and the attached files within the compose window. There is NOT the original message, which's supposed to be inlined (see the Preference's picture).

As you can see, there's the option "Forward messages - INILINED" checked within my preferences.
Hi,

i have the same problem too on Thunderbird 3.1.2 on Win XP SP 3.

Thats what i find out: when the sender uses Microsoft Office Word as editor for emails, forwarded mails are empty. Otherwise everythink is ok.

Sorry for my english.
Is problem gone?
As for me, it seems to me the problem has gone.
