The same behavior is expected in 3.0. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open a compose window 2. Write some text in the main body 3. Place the cursor close to a word. 4. Press Ctrl-Back Actual Results: Nothing happens Expected Results: Erasing the last written word.
