from a mail discussion: But therefor we have to make sure that we get notified about content updates. Is there an automatic way? - not sure if this is possible with drupal, but might be good to investigate. Would be nice to have when we have community leads in the future

We need to cleanup cronjobs for this, as Tomcat very well knows, the current cron spams out lots of emails if it's being run. Cleaning up cron requires removing all unnecessary modules that currently use it (and overload it). Marking this bug depending on that one.
