After looking at the JavaScript source for the test, I wonder if this might be a bug in the test design rather than the browser. The support code shared by this entire test matrix conditionalizes its behavior on the window name. (It looks like it's designed so that all the tests can be run in some kind of automatic mode; I don't know if this is used anywhere.) The window.name test may just be failing to take that into account.

Testcase is obsolete. I'm going to update that testcase. Marking this invalid.

[Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win95; en-US; rv:1.4a) Gecko/20030401] Confirming comment 3: *Click on link in <http://mozilla.org/quality/browser/standards/javascript/tcmatrix/window.html>: passed :-) *Click on link in this bug report: failed ('Actual Result' is empty) :-( Could a warning be added to the bug source, or "Bug report required" replaced by "Bug# 47280" to point to this explanation ? Also, this testcase opens a new window: please add a warning. (see also bug 142649 comment 3, for this and the "new Tab" issue) Should this bug be reopened ? ***** Re Description: The 'Expected Result' is now "testmatrix" :-|
