When I click e-mail photo in Picasa a new Thunderbird e-mail message with a photo attachment is not generated.  

Thunderbird is available in Picasa in the drop down menu for preferred e-mail client, and Thunderbird is the default e-mail in my Mac (Mail) Systems Preferences.

From Picasa help forums:

"Unfortunately, Thunderbird on the Mac doesn't provide any way for other applications to create a new email message with attachments, so there's no way to support Thunderbird. Hopefully a future version of Thunderbird will provide that ability."
