Should we have an archive menu item in the thread pane context menu?

It was suggested that this would be useful for dealing with multiple selection, when the archive button would not be available in the message pane. I feel the keyboard shortcut is much more useful for this, though not so discoverable.

A context menu item would be an easy way to add this in.  Though the menu is pretty complex already.

Alternate approaches like bug 452440 and bug 454829 would use the message pane area for group actions ( bug 448288 ); however that's a bunch more work that we don't have much time for at this point.

Not sure if voting on this was the right thing to do, so I will reply.

Context menu is needed for exactly why David said. Finally decided to give the latest nightlies a try for the past three days. Have had several moments where I was wanting to Archive several messages at the same time. Context menu would have been good as I tried to go there at least 4 times in the past 3 days.

As for keyboard shortcut, just found out that "A" now does that. I really wish there was a way to re-map shortcuts in about:config.
