The browser's find dialog always comes up at 0, 0. This is very far away from where I typically keep my browser window on my screen. The dialog should come up over its parent window, or at least somewhere nearby. to make it easier to find (the first few times, I didn't even think the dialog was there because I wasn't expecting it to come up so far away) and more convenient to mouse to in order to type the search term.
any update on this?
Find dialog no longer appears there.. are you still seeing this? build 2001010320 win32.
I still see this using a 20001231 build. Has it been fixed in the last day or two?
Note, another dialog that comes up there is the download progress dialog. Should that be a separate bug, or can it be covered by this one?
I still see find coming up at (0,0) with linux build 2001-01-16-08
I'm not seeing this on Linux with Build ID 2001022621.
Still happens with 20010226 using kde 1.1.2 and placement policy "Cascade".

Errrr ... you know of course that initial window placement on Linux builds is left completely to the window manager, yes? Are you saying that we should take over initial window placement for transient dialogs, even on unix? If so, you should add a note to that effect to bug 50686 and close this one as a duplicate.
*** Bug 67251 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
The find dialog is fixed -- it no longer comes up at 0,0 -- but the download file picker (e.g. what you get if you shift-click on a link to download it to a file) still does.
This is fixed.
