This bug is for tracking purposes. Put all bugs that has to do with the global find dialog and find feature here.
Three feature requests: 1) Ditch the pop up window which informs the user that the text was not found. This could be avoided with a dialog that simply beeps the system beep (as "Find again" now does) and writes an informative "! Search text not found in page" message prominently in the existing Find dialog. 2) Every match of the searched-for string should be highlighted on the page. 3) The current match (respecting the find next/find previous/wrap radio) should have its line box scrolled to the top of the viewport. With the current behavior, the user has to scan the entire page area to find the match. If the Find dialog has the focus, the match is barely highlighted (gray on white, often). Worse, the match can be clipped by the Find dialog.
taking. pchen, feel free to reassign if you're not the right person [then again, this is just a meta bug].
