User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.0.5) Gecko/2008120121 Firefox/3.0.5 Build Identifier: version 1.5.0.10 (20070221) When searching messages for text, the messages are returned from old to new. Since most search results are in newer messages (especially on large folders), results are available sooner when it is retrieved the other way: the newest first, and than back to the oldest. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Take a huge folder 2. Search on text in a mail of a week (or two) old 3. Wait Actual Results: Expected results are returned after the whole folder has been evaluated Expected Results: Give me the first result faster For large folders, it is common that search is used for quite new mail. Very old mail is ofter worth the wait. On small folders, the time lap remains fast for older mail. Should I mention that it is common behaviour in most other mail applications?
