Is this bug only about the assertion in the summary, or all of them? Because the assertion in the summary happens a lot in tinderbox logs, randomly. I suspect it may be related to cycle collection, though I don't have a useful stack for it.

I intended the bug to be about all of the assertions, but you can do what you want with it :)
I filed bug 563980 to cover that assertion being frequently random on tinderbox.

Includes debugging output from the printf added in http://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/rev/76e0ed39f6ad
It seems to be the no pres shell case.
Er, meant that for bug 563980.

Summary: "ASSERTION: Please remove this from the document properly" with contentEditable, execCommand, tables → "ASSERTION: selection could not be collapsed after insert" with contentEditable, execCommand, tables
Bug 563980 should fix the last of the assertions (the one in the summary), but the others remain (although I don't see them every time I load the testcase).

WFM. I don't get any assertions when I load the testcase. I'll file new bugs if I come across them again ;)
