FYI, there is no pull-down in the version list for 3.0.5. Also, there is no component in Bugizlla (offered when creating a bug) for either the the newsgroup list pane or the newsgroup message list window or the newsgroup message display window?

I am subscribed to some of the mozilla newsgroups. This occurs when I launch TB or flip the disclosure triangle on "news.mozilla.org" in the newsgroup list window to cause it to refresh the unread message count.

It will show unread messages. For example:

m.a.labs (2)
m.a.aprerelease (5)
m.d.amo (5)

Then I click on the newsgroup and it "really" refreshes and the unread count goes away, as there are no unread messages.

Flip the disclosure triangle again and they come back. Click on the newsgroup again and they disappear again. I can do this all day....

MailNews Core -> Networking: News, is the correct component for news bugs.

Bug 79130 is what it most sounds like.
