Some people think that when they put their email address in the crash reporter, they will get an email back from a support person. We have some people leaving Firefox for IE because of this.

Reproducible: Didn't try
Summary: I think we need a KB article that says that the cash reporter will NOT email you back. → I think we need a KB article that says that the crash reporter will NOT email you back.

not sure how useful this will really be. I suggested in another bug that in the mean time we set up an autoresponder that explains to people that they probably won't get a response and to go to support.
A whole article for this is overboard; but we should say something in <https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Mozilla+Crash+Reporter>.

I was going to edit the page but I think I'll run the draft text by you first:

Rather than:

__Email me when more information is available__: If you want to receive follow up information from Mozilla about your crash when it becomes available, check this box.

__Enter your email address here__: If you chose to receive follow up information, provide the email address you wish to be contacted at here.

Put:

__Email me when more information is available__: Check this box if you would be willing to receive emails from the development staff should they need followup information from you about this crash. Note: Mozilla will __NOT__ e-mail you back unless more information is requested about your crash.

__Enter your email address here__: If you chose to help our development staff get information and reproduce this crash, provide the email address you wish to be contacted at here.

I think that that would work.

So, this will be in 3.5?
I'm not sure what you mean.
Will the Mozilla Crash Reporter be in Firefox 3.5? Yes.
Will the Mozilla Crash Reporter still have an email address field? Yes.
Will the KB article be updated for 3.5? It was updated on February 28, and doesn't need any changing for 3.5.
