I would like to see a preference that allows for multiple browser windows (with different start pages) to launch at start-up. At least two. For example, I would then be able to launch My Netscape and Calendar Express when my browser launched, in addition to Mail and anything else.

This could be accomplished with a local html page and some javascript..

Matthew, is this really worth it? I'm not interested in implementing background prefs that are destined to be ui-less forever.

UI-wise, I don't think this will ever happen. In a few years we'll hopefully be at the stage where, every time the user starts up their computer (not just when they resume from sleep mode), they'll have exactly the same windows open as were open when the computer was turned off. But that is much better done as an OS feature, not an application feature. The fact that you `start up' Mozilla at all, rather than just double-clicking the relevant icons to open new browser windows, mail windows, composition windows, or whatever as needed, is an unfortunate architectural bug in Mozilla. I suggest the reporter do what Jesse suggested -- set his home page to a Javascript which opens the desired windows and/or URIs. Or, with appropriate command-line or Applescript support, he could put a script to open the desired windows in his Startup folder.

This is one of the features people love Opera and Netcaptor for. I'm sure they don't wait years to see this to happen in mozilla.

Actually, this feature in Opera annoys me, especially since the default windows come up in front of any URLs I specify on the command line.

Marking wontfix. Agree with Matthew on most points.
