The illegal choice error looks to be fixed on my local sandbox using the latest version of our "OG Forum" module. As soon as we have the latest version of this module committed into SVN and up on stage ill confirm this problem is fixed. Thanks Paul

Aakash, do you mean for this bug to be about the specific message, "An illegal choice has been detected"?

I'm just wondering why the form is allowed to submit (or even show) to begin with in that scenario.

I can't confirm the "illegal choice" problem is fixed on my local spreadfirefox server or on the stage server because i can't login with a non administrative account or create a new account as an administrator that i can then use. This is problem reported elsewhere. "I'm just wondering why the form is allowed to submit (or even show) to begin with in that scenario." @Mary Is this a UI problem for us that needs to be resolved ?

(In reply to comment #5) > Hey there: Hi. (In reply to comment #3) > I'm just wondering why the form is allowed to submit (or even show) to begin > with in that scenario. I don't think a user should have to officially "Join" a project, in order to participate in the forums. Any user might have something valuable to share in any discussion. Making them "Join" before sharing seems like an unneeded barrier to me. (In fact, I'm wondering what "Joining" a project means in general) What do you think?

I'm generalizing this a bit so that I can dupe a couple very similar bugs against it. For each bug, the problem is the same, the only difference is the content type (discussion topic, event, document, others?) sorry for the spam
Severity: normal → minor
Summary: Submitting a Discussion Topic allowed even when no groups have been joined → Submitting a {content type} allowed even when no projects have been joined
