Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.2a1pre) Gecko/20090305 Minefield/3.2a1pre
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.2a1pre) Gecko/20090305 Shredder/3.1a1pre ID:20090305030825

I have my movemail account set to load messages on program startup, and then check every ... minutes. In this build, and I think in 20090220, the messages are not loaded at startup. If I go away for long enough, the periodic download does eventually activate.

This seems to have occurred when a really annoying bug -- that the UI did not appear until all the movemail messages had been loaded and filtered -- went away. [D'uh -- if they aren't loaded at all, it would!]

This situation is much less annoying than the original behavior; however, IMNSHO, the UI should come up immediately and the movemail messages should be processed on another thread.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Using a UNIX Movemail account, set prefs to load messages on startup.
2. Startup
3.
Actual Results:
The UI comes up pretty quickly, but there are no new messages in the Inbox. [Since I know there are over 3000 waiting on any Monday, this is not for want of things to do]. It is necessary to specifically "Get Mail For ..." the account to get things started.

Expected Results:
As stated in the detail, the UI should come up as close to immediately as possible, it should never wait for some other operation to complete. As soon as the program is able, it should start a thread in the "background" loading and processing messages from the mail spool.
