User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2a1pre) Gecko/20090313 Minefield/3.2a1pre Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2a1pre) Gecko/20090313 Minefield/3.2a1pre This URL given when it has loaded completely is very slow to scroll down and render properly - it is significantly rendered faster in IE7. May be because it has lot of big images, but how come IE7 is faster for the same page? Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Go to URL 2. Try scrolling down 3. Hiccups/delays in rendering very noticeable Actual Results: Time delay in rendering Expected Results: Faster rendering - if iE can do it then so can Firefox or so should

Try in safe mode. Even for me in IE7 that page takes a long time to load.

Same with this URL http://www.noupe.com/php/10-ways-to-automatically-manually-backup-mysql-database.html therei s a noticeable scrolling/rendering delay in the latest version of Minefield (20090315 nightly). But my IE7 is faster for all noupe.com pages. Faster scrolling, faster rendering. I tried with Minefield safe mode, same issue. Also unable to scroll until the page loads completely in Minefield.

I can confirm this on other sites. Let’s compare with the bugs (I’ve commented more on the first of them.): Bug 480806 – Scrolling is very slow When the page is made a full zoom. Bug 425234 – Full page zoom very slow on ajaxian.com Bug 452714 – W3C's page scrolls very slowly

I still am not seeing any issue with that site. It is very long, which means that as it loads it will knock your view up, but not sure what the issue is. Out of those bugs that you gave, Bug 452714 is the only one that really looks related. The others are on zoom, which may be the same thing, but right now is too early to tell.

The rendering delay is very noticeable with FF. Even IE8 renders the same page faster while still scrolling.

Does it happen in a new profile?

"new profile"? Do you mean safe mode?

http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Profiles, it is different than safe mode.

Yes, it happens in new profile, safe mode, new profile in safe mode. It’s reproducible always. Maybe it’s more remarkable when the smooth scrolling is turned on.

Sorry had been busy, didnt have time to check out the Profiles as this is new to me, but the issue is occurring in safe mode also.

Sorry for posting twice in a moment. I think that it might be related to the problems with zoom, because zoom only makes worse what is already happening without zoom. So it might be the same problem. I just added those bugs to show that there are more similar problems.

It seems like from comment 3 that we have four bugs (including this one) that are all about the same thing. Can someone come up with a minimized test case that demonstrates the slow scrolling problem and duplicate all the other bugs to that one? @Tyler, this might already have a duplicate somewhere in the Core/Layout* components, if you want to hunt it down.

Ok, maybe I will regret for that but I have to duplicate this one to a similar bug which has a minimized test case. Please don't spam the other bug with confirm comments.
