We need a survey about XUL development to be launched for European locales during Quarter 2.

Here is the list of targetted locales:
ca , cs , de , el , es-ES , fi , fr , fy-NL , hu , it , nl , nb-NO , pl , pt-PT , ro , ru , sk , sq , sr , sv-SE , uk , tr

(If you represent a European locale not listed above, please contact me as it means that the web application hosting the survey is not localized yet in your language and we can work on it in a different bug.)

You will find in this bug an archive with two text files to translate.

The file is organized as such :

The second string should be localized, like this:

Please attach your translated files to this bug as a zip archive, don't forget to save your text files with the UTF8 encoding.

In the first file I found the country names. If someone has a problem with it, please use the original translations here: http://translationproject.org/domain/iso_3166.html

However my translation is ready I think a good script could help to other translators to skip this huge part of the survey if the translation in their languages already exist in the above mentioned resource.

Attachment: Script to convert a PO file to the requested format

I have made a little script using the Translate Toolkit[1] to convert a PO file to the requested format for the Spanish team. So here you have the script in case you want to reuse it.

You need to replace the hard-coded filenames on the script.
Also remember you need to have the Translate Toolkit in your PYTHONPATH.

Since Frisian (fy-NL) is such a small language and this is such a specific survey, I won't translate to this language. Please remove fy-NL from the requested list (only this time).

I guess so, that's a question for Stas as he manages the Survey project, I am not sure when this will be launched as it is not a prioritary task during the release.
