Jason is this a regression ?

It's a regression from Thunderbird 2, which didn't support tabs. It only occurs when interacting directly with the new tabs support.

Jason, I've read nother bug report about this and can't remember if it was stated to be gone or not. Can you retest using current nightl?

Confirming fixed on: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.1pre) Gecko/20090706 Lightning/1.0pre Shredder/3.0b3pre
I cannot test this on Linux until Bug 486710 is resolved. :( Marking this bug depending on it, for now.
Depends on: 486710
Why does this depend on 64-bit Linux builds? Your user-agent string indicates that you are running a 32-bit system, and even if you are on 64-bit OS now the 32-bit nightlies should nevertheless work.

I switched to 64-bit hardware since this bug report. 32-bit Thunderbird does not work on 64-bit Linux: See Bug 414197
No longer depends on: 486710
It should work on 64-bit Ubuntu with network.dns.disableIPv6 set true.
That's some library issue within this and related distributions.

I didn't notice the IPv6 work-around, but that makes 32-bit TB usable again.
Thanks for that.
This bug is fixed: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686 (x86_64); en-US;
rv:1.9.1.1pre) Gecko/20090706 Shredder/3.0b3pre
Sorry for all the bug spam.
