Details

We currently use blocks/depends fields to track regressions on b.m.o, but that's far from ideal (see e.g. bug 251556 comment 4). mkanat tells me that bug 287334 should allow use to add custom fields on b.m.o, and I think we should use that feature to add a separate field to track regressions.
Considering the number of problems the patch in bug 287334 had, I'm not sure if I trust the bmo-specific code currently in place for this. We may just want to wait until 3.4 for this so we can drop the hack patch. Anyway, if we did this on bmo, we'd have to modify the templates to display the custom fields in the right spot, else it would look really bad.
Where did the "hack patch" come from? Is there an upgrade to 3.4 already planned?
(In reply to comment #2) > Where did the "hack patch" come from? Everything Solved, as part of a MoCo customization. > Is there an upgrade to 3.4 already planned? No, as 3.4 isn't ready yet. Hasn't even hit RC stages yet.
Here's how you set this up with custom fields: Name: cf_caused_by Type: Bug ID Description: Caused By Reverse Relationship Description: Regresses
We've upgraded BMO to 3.6.x, we should be able to turn this on now, right? The wording that won approval in bug 405215 comment 1 was "Caused By" and "Caused" (and I suppose that bug can be fixed by this one or duped).
There is no "Reverse Relationship Description" available in bmo or on landfill/bugzilla-3.6-branch/. I see it on trunk though. I don't think we have this feature yet.
Ah, yeah, my bad. The feature went in to trunk shortly after we branched for 3.6, I think.

Recently, I am hit by using the "blocks/depends" field to sort out the regression relation. Will be happy to see this addressed.
