When opening a previously send message it would be extremely useful to be able to resend the message in its current form without having to forward it, thereby adding the signature again.  This feature request has come from a number of users who are used to this function within Microsoft Entourage but miss it in TB.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open a previously send message from the sent items folder.
2. Find their is no send button on the tool bar or in the various menus.
3. Ask the kind developers to consider its inclusion in a future release of TB :).

I think this functionality is already in Thunderbird just in a slightly different form. When you have a message selected you can do Message -> Edit Message As New, then click on Send.

You've also got that in the context menu for when you've got a message selected in the list.

This not only gives you the opportunity to resend, but allows you to edit if necessary.

Hi Mark Banner,

Thank you very much for the swift response.  I have consulted one of the users, who is now pleased this "re-send can be done".  I would like to suggest that this function be made available as a button, since I have tried to customize the toolbar to add this as a button but I cannot find a way to.

A button that could be placed next to reply/forward would be perfect.

The fact that users cannot understand that "Edit as new" is actually the resend feature for tb (+ the fact that it lucks discover-ability) calls for a context menu rename as well. "Resend" is easier to grasp and would bring us in par with other mail clients (Outlook for example).

Perhaps the menu item should be renamed too? I'm not sure if "Resend" is the best title here, but maybe it is?

Making the button available wouldn't hurt too, I guess...
