follow-up from bug 387014 comment #22:
Whenever I switch from the mail tab to the calendar tab, Lightning computes and shows all the events in month view, clears them from the view, then shows them again.

Thanks for filing this bug Daniel, but I no longer see that behavior (I'm now using Lightning 1.0pre 2009-05-19).
Now I see Lightning draw each event in month view only once (when I switch to the calendar tab or navigate to different months). This seems correct.
The strange part is I CAN SEE Lightning draw each event on the screen, one at a time. It's very fast, but slow enough that I can see it. Instead, I would expect Lightning to build the composite view in the background, then paint everything onto the screen at once. Not a big deal though.

Actually I think it's one *calendar* at a time, not one *event* at a time.

I see the flickering on large calendars, e.g. the musicians birthdays one.

I see a relation Bug 466741, maybe both can be solved in a similar way.
