The classic mailer 'gnus' had a concept of 'scoring' messages in newsgroups. Going further than marking threads as seen or watched, they allowed you to go straight to the interesting mail in busy newsgroups first.
The basic concept is that based on user preferences, messages are scored, and only messages meeting a certain threshold are shown first. The threads which contain the highest scoring messages in the folder are shown first.
Examples of scoring mechanisms:
- Mark Thread as Interesting/Boring - adds/substracts a score from the marked message and its replies
- Fanboy / Kill-list - add/subtract a score based on an author
- Key words / dull topics - add/subtract a score based on presence of key words in the message
Hopefully you can see that this is a very flexible system for trying to make the messages which are interesting to you bubble to the top of the list.
Reproducible: Always

Joshua, I did go through the list of tickets that bugzilla presented to me. It just only showed me tickets for Thunderbird, not "MailNews Core". Perhaps bugzilla could be extended/configured to include sub-components of products when logging tickets.
