Details
Now that AMO makes it easier to install experimental versions I thought that I might distribute Adblock Plus development builds through AMO. Unfortunately, when I uploaded a development build it was made public - no questions asked. Moving it to the sandbox doesn't seem to be possible either.

AMO doesn't have release channels yet, which means there can only be one latest version of an extension at a time. So uploading developmental builds is probably something you don't want to do, because they'll be show on the main display page as the latest version.

Is there an exception for versions under review? Because all the way through the long review of JavaScript Deobfuscator 1.5.4 the old version 1.5.3 was showing up on the main page and nobody noticed that there was an update.

This is slightly different, but the goal is the same so I'm going to mark this as a dupe of bug 526077 which should be going live next week.
