Through little number of steps it can cause inusability of threadpane-splitter.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. use TB with view "message pane " set on true and view sort by date "grouped by sort". Collapse one of the threads (for example in my case I collapsed thread "Two week ago");
2. close TB and restart him.
3. goto to InBox folder of an account and select a message;
4. click on F8 to hide message pane of selected message;
5. open this message in a new tab;
6. click on first tab (for example "InBox" [e-mail]);
7. select a collapsed thread (for example the thread named "Two weeks ago");
8. click on F8 for show message pane that display summary page for collapsed threads.

9. generally when I close tab where the message is open,threadpane-splitter reappear. 

Now threadpane-splitter is not usable as show in attached screenshot.

I'm not sure if this bug is related to bug #493490.

This happens for me independently from the sort or threading settings. Simple STR:

1. Turn the message pane off (F8)
2. Open a message in a new tab
3. Switch back to the first tab
4. Select another message
5. Turn the message pane on (F8).

Actual results:

The threadpane-splitter is hidden and unusable.

I cannot reproduce original STR that I post on comment #1: WFM.

Ilja, if for you the issue still exist, reopen the bug.
