This bug reproduced for me: with 04/08/2001 nightly under RH Linux 6.2 Alert message displayed always more than 4 times. It displayed infinitely. But with 04/06/2001 nightly under WinNT4.0 alert message displayed only once.

This is an events problem -- the alert grabs focus from the button, and then when it comes down the button is refocused, triggering the alert again. We have bugs on the "alert steals focus" issue... This one should be marked duplicate.
