From bug 492398 comment 10, it would be nice to have workflow diagrams for the different contribution annoyance levels.
Priority: -- → P1
Target Milestone: 5.0.8 → 5.0.7
Diagrams added here: http://people.mozilla.com/~chowse/drop/contributions/workflow/ I recommend showing them in a lightbox when the user clicks the "Example" link, along with a more descriptive text. I'll try to put together some copy on Monday.
Any copy yet?
(In reply to comment #2) Here y'go: 1. A new section is added to your add-on's page and Developer Profile, requesting contributions from your users. 2. When users begin downloading this add-on, they are taken to your Developer Profile, where they are asked for contributions. 3. When users ask to install this add-on, they are taken to your Developer Profile first, where they will are for contributions. Users must click the Continue with Download link to complete the installation.

Created attachment 387080 [details] [diff] [review] workflow examples for contributions With new files this time.
Created attachment 387087 [details] [diff] [review] workflow examples for contributions I'm able to git apply this one without issues. I don't know why the git format-patch one didn't work, this one was created with gd --binary master..
Comment on attachment 387087 [details] [diff] [review] workflow examples for contributions minor things: 1) Please change the three sentences to say that you are asking the users for "a contribution" instead of "for contributions" 2) Localizers won't be happy if they don't at least have the option to localize these images. Please put them in /locale/en_US/images/ and echo them out from there. (look at en_US/pages/sandbox.thtml and /views/pages/sandbox.thtml if you want an example)

Comment on attachment 387102 [details] [diff] [review] v4 I expect someone will complain that there is no close button on the preview but these popups have been around for a while. We'll see if they figure out clicking on the gray. It's a brave new world!
