User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en; rv:1.9.1) Gecko/20090624 Firefox/3.5 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729) Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en; rv:1.9.1) Gecko/20090624 Firefox/3.5 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729) Visiting the page http://www.youtube.com/html5 with Firefox 3.5 (release) results in components that are mis-rendered and the video is not loaded. What I mean by mis-rendered: - images with borders - thumbnails missing. Compare to Safari 4 for a working equivalent. Tested with Windows XP. Reproducible: Always
Invalid - page uses h.264 encoded avi. This would require Firefox to buy rights to use h.264 which would not be transferable to projects that are built off of Firefox. The Firefox developers have chosen to use an open codec, Theora. For a demo see http://openvideo.dailymotion.com/
