Tried to attach a Faststone Capture screen shot, but it wouldn't let me.
This sounds like an incompatible extension issue. Please try disabling each extension one by one (restarting in between each disable) until you figure out the culprit.

Thanks for your reply. The extensions must be compatible. When they're working, they work fine. I discovered what is really happening. I do computer backups with Acronis vll. When I back up the extensions on the attached screen shot below “IE Tab” gray out and won't work. The work around is to bring up the "Add-ons" dialog box, hit the “Find updates” button, and restart Fx. That restores their functionality. I have been using Fx since the Phoenix/Firebird days without problems. It's a terrific browser. Hope you can fix this. It's a royal pain in the a$$! Regards, GW
So this only happens when you have IE Tab enabled?
Glary Utilities seems to be the cuplprit for both Bug 501631 and Bug 501633. I uninstalled it and did every test I could think of with no ill-effect on FX 3.5. The Fx 3.5 Searchbar and Add-ons remain intact and functioning. I substituted CCleaner for Glary. CCcleaner does much the same thing and has no deleterious effect on FX 3.5
Thanks Gardiner! Marking as dupe.
