Thread pane mode. I use the view Unread mode. Take a lonely unread message (ie a thread containing only one unread message). Click on it, this will mark the message as read. Now click on the column which contains the blue suns to mark the message as unread. Expected results : The message is again marked as unread Results : The message is underlined and the from field is underlined too. Is you click on the > (the Thread colapse button) so the thread gets opened and the triangle is in \/ position - clicking on the blue sun will mark the read as unread.

This sounds like the issue seen in other bugs that collapsed rows of the thread pane represent the root message, not the thread. Maybe we need a meta-bug for this? Here's one related bug from my history: bug 622779.
