When a new window is created it should appear on screen. New browser windows appear almost off screen to the extreme right. If more than one new window is created the first one appears off screen and the rest appear on screen until the first window is moved back on screen. See the comments in bug #25455 by Matthew Miller and Peter Trudelle. How to reproduce: 1 Launch Browser 2 load mozilla.org 3 open any link in new window(middle button) 4 try to find the new window What will happen: The new window will be mostly off screen, the majority of the time only the myside bar will be showing, sometimes as much as 1/4 of the window will be showing.
Same here: all windows open off-screen (at the lower-right). I can drag them on-screen only by Alt-clicking the top-left window-manager decoration (which is just visible at the lower-right of the screen). BTW, I'm on Linux as well, using the sawfish windowmanager.
I had the same problem, but it went away after renaming my ~/.mozilla dir and starting with a new profile, see bug# 50136 for details. is this a dupe?
->danm. I think we need to allow the WM to handle window placement on Linux. Perhaps Pav or the DR could take this?
