I just updated from 3.0b2 to the latest nightly (July 9, 2009). When I reviewed some of my RSS news I got this "No Feed Summary" message, saying the news feed is in old format so it can't display the summary. I went to Accounts>News&Blogs and saw the "Show the article summary..." checkbox is not checked. I edited the rss.show.summary in about:config from 1 to 0 and it solved the problem.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Add the RSS field marked in the URL text box (you can also use: http://www.hayadan.org.il/wp/feed/)
2. View the feeds
3. You will see a message saying "No Feed Summary"
4. Open Accounts>News&Blogs>Manage Subsciptions and open your feed's properties - you will notice the "Show the article summary..." checkbox is not checked.

Actual Results:
The summary error message is still being displayed.
however, I've noticed this value is being updated from True to False in the feeds.rdf file fz:quickMode="true"

Expected Results:
the "can't display the summary" message to stop appearing
Component: General → Feed Reader
Product: Thunderbird → MailNews Core
QA Contact: general → feed.reader
seems related to bug https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=491844
however, that bug was resolved a few days ago and this is a fresh nightly from today
Oh boy 4 mothes old posted bug makes it still in the TB v3.0 Final and in v3.1a1pre lol.
In TB 3.0 and later, the
  View | Message Body As
menu changes when a feed item is selected, and that lets you change the global RSS-item display mode.

See bug 438429 comment 81.
