Add On Manager -> Extensions -> Install button. Select an XPI with the filepicker. Nothing happens. Look in the error console to see:

Error: uncaught exception: [Exception... "Factory not registered" nsresult: "0x80040154 (NS_ERROR_FACTORY_NOT_REGISTERED)" location: "JS frame :: chrome://mozapps/content/extensions/extensions.js :: installExtension :: line 2832" data: no]

I saw this over the weekend, and now it seems to always be happening for me. If it's actually a rare circumstance and I'm just the victim of bad luck or really weird machine configuration, it might not block b3. But until we have reason to believe that's true, I think we need to block.

Adding qawanted in the hopes of getting other testers to take a swing at this on various platforms.

Might be worth checking with fresh installs etc.
Fresh profile : Ok; Dmose care to share which extension you tried to install over the week-end - it might have borked something.
Ludo, it was Standard8's Jetpack port, but I ran into the error the first time I attempted to install it, so I don't think that itself is likely to be at fault.

Now I can't reproduce it either, in debug or release builds. Removing from the blocking list entirely until either I start seeing it again and debug it, or we believe that someone other than me is seeing it, or we get steps to reproduce.

WFM too. Resolving WFM unless there's new information.
