User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-GB; rv:1.9.1.1) Gecko/20090715 Firefox/3.5.1
Build Identifier: Thunderbird 2.0.0.22
When replying to a message, the name (subject) of the reply message should change to "Re: ..." for the reply and all subsequent messages in the email stream. Thunderbird changes the subject of the *original* message to this and makes the subject of the *reply* message not to have "Re: ..." in it. This happens especially when the reply is moved from the Sent folder to the Inbox folder. Sometimes the text in the original message is even marked as if included in a reply.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Receive a message
2. Send a Reply
3. Move the reply from Sent to Inbox
Actual Results:
The *original* message subject becomes "Re: ...". The *reply* message subject is the same as the original was before being changed.
Expected Results:
The original message subject should not change. The reply message subject should become "Re: ...".

You move reply from sent to inbox manually or with filter?

Moving manually using drag and drop.
I am also noticing fairly often that all versions of an email stream, except the latest, lose the "Re:" and all look like an original. This is a different manifestation of what appears to be a number of problems handling the "Re:" on replies, particularly when they are moved from one folder to another.
Will try to use TB 3.0b4pre, although might not be able to.
Thanks for your help!

There is a very easy way to recreate this bug:
1. On account1, send a simple test email to account2.
2. On account2, create a new folder called (e.g.) Test.
3. On account2, read the message from account1.
4. On account2, reply to the message.
5. On account2, move the original received email (in Inbox) and the reply (in Sent) to the Test folder.
6. On account1, read and reply to the reply from account2.
7. GOTO 3 above.
Very quickly you will see the issue manifest itself in the Test folder on account2.

jeronymite I can't reproduce this issue executing STR in comment #3 using TB 3.0b4 at http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/thunderbird/nightly/latest-comm-1.9.1/ ?.
If you can, post a feedback here.

Thanks. I don't see it in TB 3.0b4 either ... so maybe it is now "fixed in a future release". That's fine. Many thanks for your help.
