I have a mail account with a signature and another one without.
I start composing an email, the signature is shown
I switch to the other mail account, the signature is still shown
I switch back, a new signature is added.

Reproducible: Always

Anything in Tools -> Error console when you do this ?

If you have two accounts with two different signatures, and you swap back and forth, the signatures stack, like:

Forgot to mention: I'm using Windows 7, Thunderbird 3 Beta 3, have 'start my reply ABOVE the quote', and signature set to 'below my reply'

The triple-dash "---" is not a recognized signature separator, where does it come from? It should be "-- " (dash-dash-space) for new mails. With your settings stated in comment #3, it would be omitted when replying or forwarding.

If you see this issue only when replying or forwarding, this is likely caused by bug 218346. I'm unable to reproduce this for any other case, e.g., switching accounts or identities with signatures when composing a new message.

Hello. I am able to confirm this bug on latest Thunderbird nightly:

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.3a1pre) Gecko/20090905 Shredder/3.1a1pre

And my signature separator is "-- " as you said. Switching From addresses in the compose window causes the signature to be (alternatingly) repeated.

BTW the other bug 218346 is a dup of this. I have added a comment there saying so.
