When Socorro selects a bug to associate with a crash, either it should not select a duplicate or it should show both the original bug and its duplicate. Otherwise it can appear that the issue is fixed. Here is an example: http://tinyurl.com/othuun Perhaps we can add as part of the Bugzilla query a tool to follow duplicates and automatically add what they duplicate.

This is mostly bug 505598 - the original bug should also show up but doesn't for a variety of reasons. In this case, bug 482578 was marked security sensitive until very recently and therefore wasn't returned in the search results.

Okay. To solve this part of the issue, we either need a way to indicate that an issue is being worked on (e.g. if a bug is a security bug we somehow indicate that there is a bug and that we are working on the issue). Part of the problem is that I--or anyone else looking at crash stats--will create a new bug about a security sensitive issue, and then things become a mess like the history of Bug 505364 and its counterpart. On the other hand, I don't want to somehow comprise our security bugs in any way.
