July 21 & July 22 updates (20090722031710 & 20090721031423)
"Executable" File Permission on Firefox (Minefield) Program Files and Libraries is being deleted by daily automatic update.
Program does not properly restart after update.
OS: Linux, Fedora Core 7
Tools - Permissions - Advanced - Update
Configured to automatically check for updates to Minefield, Add-ons, Search Engines
And configured to automatically download and install.
I have only recently installed Minefield, so I can't report on the previous history of this problem.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Daily Updates Enabled
2.Firefox closed (or crashed) then reopened.
3.Updates installed, but Firefox does not properly reopen.
Actual Results:
"Executable" permissions unset on the following files.
Firefox failed to restart after update.
/usr/lib/firefox-3.6a1pre/crashreporter
/usr/lib/firefox-3.6a1pre/firefox-bin
/usr/lib/firefox-3.6a1pre/mozilla-xremote-client
/usr/lib/firefox-3.6a1pre/updater
/usr/lib/firefox-3.6a1pre/libfreebl3.so
/usr/lib/firefox-3.6a1pre/libmozjs.so
/usr/lib/firefox-3.6a1pre/libnspr4.so
/usr/lib/firefox-3.6a1pre/libnssckbi.so
/usr/lib/firefox-3.6a1pre/libplc4.so
/usr/lib/firefox-3.6a1pre/libplds4.so
/usr/lib/firefox-3.6a1pre/libsmime3.so
/usr/lib/firefox-3.6a1pre/libsoftokn3.so
/usr/lib/firefox-3.6a1pre/libsqlite.so
/usr/lib/firefox-3.6a1pre/libssl3.so
/usr/lib/firefox-3.6a1pre/libxpcom.so
/usr/lib/firefox-3.6a1pre/libxul.so
Expected Results:
Executable Permissions left alone (executable) for program and libraries.

This sounds like the recent regression in bug 505120 that was just fixed. Please check to see if it is fixed with tomorrow's update

Last 2 updates ok.
Apparently similar to the Mac bug.
