Smart folders in beta 3 of Shredder only includes an inbox for each account. This makes its design rather POP-centric even though it supports IMAP accounts. Most of my IMAP accounts get new mail in other folders. There is no way to add those folders to smart folders. 

I tried right clicking on the Fastmail child folder and selecting subscribe but that doesn't have a separate subscription, its the same as my Fastmail IMAP account.

There doesn't appear to be any way to add saved searches. I use saved searches to create a virtual folder with just new messages from certain senders. If the idea behind smart folders is to create a pseudo account that contains all your new mail it would be useful to support saved search folders too.

Do you plan on providing an API that supports users writing an add-on to enhance existing advanced folder views or add custom ones?

we have a patch in progress to show favorite folders under the smart folders, so that should help.
