gmail, imap. New profile as of tb 3.0b2.

I'm unsubscribed to the spam folder, not checking for new messages, not for offline use, worked fine with tb2, but after upgrading to b3 it shows up no matter what is done unless hiding it on gmail. Downloads spam and shows new email count. Set/reset/stop/start, doesn't help.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. select unsubscribe from gmail spam folder, not checking for new messages, not for offline use
2.
3.
Actual Results:
shows it, checks for new messages, not sure offline.

Expected Results:
folder is unsubscribed and hidden

I don't know if it applies to other folders.

Thunderbird 3 ignores subscription information for Gmail accounts. You can work around it by using the Advanced IMAP Controls lab in Gmail to hide the unwanted folders.
Well, in 3.0 b2 it worked fine.

What is the value in disabling it? or is it a b3 bug?

Also, if I do it on gmail with the spam folder, a new Junk folder suddenly appears in tb. Another bug?
Can you provide us a with an imap log from when you unsubscribe to gmail ?

Comment 8 in #493455 explains the current situation:
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=493455#c8
Comment 8 is about All Mail but does that mean we can't unsubscribe to anything on gmail now? That seems odd unless some big benefit in other ways.

>>provide us a with an imap log

what is that?
The comment explains that TB 3 does obtain the subscription information, for Gmail accounts, from the server, because it does not use the LSUB command.

Instructions for obtaining those are written at https://wiki.mozilla.org/MailNews:Logging - but no need to provide it.
