1.9.2 is codewise almost central, and the current line of development. The regression fixes for l10n.mk in bug 489313 have just landed on central, those still need to bake there 'til I push them on 1.9.2, but l10n.mk and generate-snippets are on 1.9.2, so I guess there's nothing that prevents us from actually switching updates on. Bug fixes on the build automation aside, that is. Filing this as separate bug, not sure which bugs in the 1.9.2 and nightly updates scenario this is related to.

Axel; Filing this separate bug is fine for tracking setup work. I've tweaked dependencies a little to reflect reality. As you know, we needed both: - l10n nightly updates working on m-c, and - the new 1.9.2 branch to be fully setup ...before we could do l10n nightly updates on 1.9.2.

Now that these two are knocked off I will be working on the updates for 1.9.2
First run of locales for 1.9.2 and their complete MAR files on staging in: http://staging-stage.build.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/2009/08/2009-08-18-05-mozilla-1.9.2-l10n/ http://staging-stage.build.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/2009/08/2009-08-19-03-mozilla-1.9.2-l10n/ http://staging-stage.build.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/2009/08/2009-08-19-05-mozilla-1.9.2-l10n/ Tomorrow I should have the second run and hopefully the partials will be generated as well. If it all works well tomorrow we could turn on either: - Thursday and have Friday for debugging - Monday and have Tuesday and rest of the week for debugging
Let's not plan for too much debugging time. Check one update cycle, if it works, switch it on. I'll land the l10n.mk changes in a bit.

L10n completer MAR files for 1.9.2 have been uploaded to: http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/latest-mozilla-1.9.2-l10n/ Let's see after tomorrow's run if the partials get generated properly and we can upgrade from one nightly to the next.

People will start getting updates if they take any builds after these dates: - linux and mac - Aug 20th (http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/2009/08/2009-08-20-03-mozilla-1.9.2-l10n/) - windows - Aug 20th (http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/2009/08/2009-08-20-05-mozilla-1.9.2-l10n/)
Actually, the way nightly updates work is that if you have _any_ older build you get the latest (for that branch). Here's a completely bogus example for a (fictional) 2001 build https://aus2.mozilla.org/update/1/Firefox/3.6a2pre/2001010101/WINNT_x86-msvc/de/nightly/update.xml which points to http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/2009/08/2009-08-25-05-mozilla-1.9.2-l10n/firefox-3.6a2pre.de.win32.complete.mar right now.
