Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.2) Gecko/20090729 Firefox/3.5.2
When opening tabs the screen simply comes up blank. I have the default Firefox page set as the default homepage yet the screen comes up blank. The 'home' icon has to be clicked on the browser for the homepage to finally show. Our web company and our customers are being urged to use IE7 instead due to this issue and many others that were already reported.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open FF 3.5
2. Open new tab
3. Blank screen appears, Firefox homepage does not show.
Actual Results:
I received a blank screen. MANY other users are having this exact same issue.
Expected Results:
It should of gone to the Firefox homepage as listed in the Tools>Options menu.
To be honest version 3.5 is complete garbage, it is a resource hog and is very clunky. Working for a B2B web company we cannot believe this product made it out of Development and into live Production. We even suggest that our many customers not use FF 3.5 due to all of the problems it has, IE7 runs much better and that is what we are recommending to our customers. It is spreading rapidly all over the internet that this version is to be avoided at all costs.

Please try the following troubleshooting options:
- Firefox's safe-mode to exclude extension/theme problems
- a new profile
- a reinstall in a new empty folder

FWIW, 3.5.1 fixed a big perf bug and 3.5 should be addressed separately.
Ria, Confirming, not an actual bug but a feature request.
Inserting a new tab in FF shows a blank tab. It doesn't load anything. Its just the first open tab loads the homepage on startup which is what the Tools->Options->General->Startup preference shows open my home page, but not on adding another tab.
The default behavior in IE loads a blank new tab also and IE is no better and loads about:blank, but can be changed by UI preference.
Until I looked at the IE options for Tab Browsing, I didn't know this was an option in IE. They have a preference to also 'open homepage for new tabs instead of a blank page'. Which the title of this bug should reflect.
