I am making this a meta-bug because I've found several bugs that are related to
this,
but none that say flat out: "Typing in textareas is slow". I have the summary
worded in a slightly weird order to maximize query matches.

The performance of the textareas must be improved to the point that there isn't a
noticable delay between typing and the appearance of text on at least a pentium
II 233 mhz.

I suppose this belongs to the editor group?

Summary: Typing in textareas is slow (PAINFULLY) → [meta] Typing in textareas is slow (PAINFULLY)
Not really..this is a huge browser bug. (I don't know if the editor people are
supposed to fix this or not). I'm talking about the performance when typing into
big textarea's within forms within the browser.
regardless of where they appear, textareas are owned by the editor group.

anyways, reassigning to nobody for now (since I don't think trudelle cares to
hear more about this?) unless editor wants to claim.
Assignee: trudelle → nobody
Note: I think they're slow (as is mentioned in the other textarea bugs) because
reflow is being done for each character that's pressed).
