In past versions this option was available.  but in the current Beta (haven't used prior betas) the option to view the #'s of emails in folders has been removed.

It is invaluable to be able to see at a glance how many emails are in a folder (total, read & unread) without actually having that folder open.

This was removed by bug bug 464973 - see bug 464973 comment 23 for an extension to add this back again.

Fixed as a result of bug 464973, which re-adds the extra columns.
