there is no explanation for "Field that controls the values that appear in this field" in the documentation. This attributes appear when we configure a custom field. what is this for ?

I though that thanks to this field I don't have to specify the values for "drop down" or "Multiple-Selection Box". But it seems it doesn't work

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.add a custom field "drop down", name "prio_bis"
2. choose "Field that controls the values that appear in this field" : "priority"
3. add a new bug
Actual Results:
there is no "prio_bis" drop down with the values of priority

Expected Results:
there is a "prio_bis" drop down with the values of priority

We already know that this doc is missing, see the "documentation?" flag in bug 308253. But we will keep this bug to track this.
