User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.1.3) Gecko/20090824 Firefox/3.5.3
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.1.4pre) Gecko/20090915 Thunderbird/3.0b4
I have two accounts, called "@free.fr" and "@gmail.com". Both are IMAP. Everytime I launch Thunderbird, it creates two IMAP subfolders in "@free.fr" account. Those two folders are called "@free.fr" and "@gmail.com".
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create two IMAP accounts, the first one as a regular IMAP, the second one as a Gmail IMAP
2. Restart thunderbird
3. Unwanted folders have been created
Actual Results:
Two extra folders are added.
Expected Results:
Don't create them !
The problem also happened with b3. I suspect the folders get added in the account that was created first (in b3, I first added the GMail IMAP, and then the regular IMAP, and a "@free.fr" folder kept appearing in the "@gmail.com" account).
Both tests were on fresh profiles, on computers running Debian for b3 and Ubuntu for b4. I used the official en-US for b3 and the first b4 en-US candidate.
Feel free to ask me for more information if needed, I'm in the middle of developing a Thunderbird extension so getting debug information shouldn't be too hard.

It looks Bug 503735, then Bug 512980 on "Smart Folders".
Check whether Bug 503735 or not with folder view of "All Folders". If Bug 503735, after remove of cause of the garbage folder, delete garbage folders, and check display of "Smart Folders". If garbage still remains at "Smart Folders", read Bug 512980 and execute manual recovery procedure.

Yes it's a duplicate of bug 503735, I had missed that one. And I'm not affected by bug 512980. Thanks for pointing that out.
