Hey Steven. As discussed, we'll be filing content creation bugs for the various 3.6 in an effort to make things even more awesomely organized. The first one is for the Firefox Features page. The changes aren't particularly huge - I've attached a Word doc with the track changes feature turned on so you can see what's been added to and removed from the 3.5 version. The only new addition that should have a visual at this point is the "Dress Up Your Firefox" blurb about personas. Tara (copied on this bug) can give you some direction on what we'll want to feature there. Thanks!

Whoops - thanks for the reminder. Copy doc is attached.

One other thing in case it's not clear from the copy doc - we're removing the spiffy little 'new' and 'improved' tags from this version of the site.

The text changes from the word document have been made in the firefox3.6 branch in r52940. Let me know if/when there is any instruction on visuals for the Personas element. The page can be previewed here: https://www-3.6.stage.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/features/

What about https://www-3.6.stage.mozilla.com/img/tignish/firefox/performance-chart.png, which currently states "Firefox 3.5"?

(In reply to comment #5) > What about > https://www-3.6.stage.mozilla.com/img/tignish/firefox/performance-chart.png, > which currently states "Firefox 3.5"? Good question - I left that chart alone for now. Waiting on further instruction.

We are waiting on the code freeze for beta before we start running performance tests. We should have this for Oct 15th.

Hi Steven. Two comments about the Personas element: * On the top features menu, we list "Personas", but when I click on that...it takes me to a section that says "Dress up your Firefox". I think that's fine, but personally I found it a little confusing. Because the feature is titled Personas, but when we direct them to more information, there's no mention of the word "Personas". So I found myself looking for it. Perhaps we say something like "Dress up your browser *with* Personas". Or, we'll add the appropriate reference when linking over to the Personas landing page (which is still TBD). * Also, I'd definitely like to add a visual for Personas if possible. A screenshot of the browser screen, focused on the top right quadrant that shows a decorated chrome. I'll have to follow up with Slater to identify the best way of highlighting that. Thanks.

Agreed - let's retitle this "Dress Up Your Firefox with Personas". > * Also, I'd definitely like to add a visual for Personas if possible. Steven, can you reuse the browser chrome screen shot from https://www-3.6.stage.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/3.6/whatsnew/?variation=2? As for the 3.5 reference in the performance chart, Laura is correct - we'll update that as soon as we have new numbers from the beta, so it's fine for now. Steven, how long will it take to implement these changes? I'd like to get this one wrapped up soon if possible. Thanks!

Thanks Steven. Stephen Donner, should I file a new QA bug or just reassign this one?

Nit: I think we should link http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/ to http://support.mozilla.com/, instead (one less thing for localizers to translate). Other than that, I think this looks good; we didn't vet it for content, but we validated doctype, checked links, layout, and checked for Mac/Windows-specific screenshots.
Sorry, just realized Steven was off CC since we reassigned to mozwebqa; Steven, mind making the minor change to the SUMO link at the bottom? (Comment 13.) Thanks!

Comment #13 sounds good to me. One more small thing while we're tinkering with this page...Steven, please update the plugins blurb to read like this: Outdated Plugin Detection Some web pages require that you install small applications called plugins to watch videos, play games or view documents. These plugins are written by other companies, and it can be hard to make sure they’re always up to date. Since outdated plugins are a security risk, Firefox will let you know when you have a plugin that’s vulnerable to attack and direct to you to the right site to get the updated version. Other than that, it sounds like we're getting really close to resolving this one?

Actually, I'd like to add one final sentence to the blurb in comment #15...at the end (after "...get the updated version.") let's add the following: _View our plugin check page_ (and that should link to http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/plugincheck/) Sorry about the extra churn here. J

The support link from comment #13 and the Outdated Plugins paragraph from comment #15 were updated in r53848. The extra sentence/link from comment #15 was added in r53848. I wasn't sure if that last "_View our plugin check page_" link should get a period (left it off, since the comment didn't include one).
I don't see a link to "_View our plugin check page_" on https://www-3.6.stage.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/features/.

(In reply to comment #18) > I don't see a link to "_View our plugin check page_" on > https://www-3.6.stage.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/features/. It was a separate commit, so it might have been behind on the update, but it is there now.

Just noticed that in the Tabs section, Easy Organization sub-section, there's a "Improved" tag which hasn't been removed yet. Irina

Personas support is new, but isn't marked as such; John?

(In reply to comment #26) > Personas support is new, but isn't marked as such; John? That's ok - we deliberately pulled all the 'new' and 'improved' tags from this version of the page.
Calling this good from my end. Steven, mind reassigning back to yourself and resolving as fixed? Thanks!

One tiny nit... In https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=523732#c48, Sarah pointed out that there's an extra "to" in the "Outdated Plugin Detection" section of this page. Steven, please fix when you have a sec. Thanks!
