Steven and team,

Attached to this bug you will find the PSDs and a separate document with the latest copy for the security page (please ignore the copy on the PSD).

We're hoping to have this page live for the first week of November because we're hoping to have it up to support PR in the security push for the holidays.

We realize that everyone is super busy right now, but it would be great to have this page at the top of the priority list.

Thanks for your patience as we get these pages through the process!

OS: Mac OS X → All
Hardware: x86 → All
I am unable to attach the PSD here--I sent it to Steven Garrity directly
through Yousendit.
Just to add to what Laura said, this is still part of the larger 3.6 project, but we're trying to push out the en-US version earlier so it can be used as part of a related PR initiative that's happening in early November. Other than that, it will go into the l10n queue with the other 3.6 pages and go live worldwide with 3.6.

Steven, we had discussed this over IM earlier in the week and it sounded ok...let me know what your thoughts are re: timing and any other questions.

Oh, and one final note: the attached PSD contains a placeholder illustration. We'll be replacing that with a new illustration that should be ready in the next week and a half or so, but that shouldn't block anything for now.

Thanks all-
This page is setup in the firefox-3.6 branch in r54070. It is still using the old feature image and doesn't have a link for the Facebook quiz yet.

Thanks Steven. Page is looking good, but I noticed one small thing I should have caught when TRO was working on the page: in the plugin check section, let's be sure to use the plugin icon instead of the puzzle piece that's there now. A new file is attached - it's smaller, but that's ok.

Also, fwiw, this is the OSX plugin icon but I'm proposing that we use it across platforms b/c it's the biggest and also looks the best. We won't have the option of browser detection when we put this into the start page snippet, so we'll have to choose a version then...might as well be consistent in our inconsistency.

Thanks-
J
Super-minor nit: The link for "View all Firefox security features" has its period linked (shouldn't).
Reassigning to QA:
We're waiting on three changes from Garrity--
1) Link to facebook Quiz
2) Change the Puzzle Piece icon to the PLugins icon in the promo
3) The link for "View all Firefox security features" has its
period linked (shouldn't).

But these all seem super minor, so let's let QA have at it and then re-verify once Steven fixes these little nits.

Both of these issues are addressed in r54255.
Who owns getting Steven the link to the Facebook quiz?
I'm asking Sarah Doherty/MOrgamic to own that.
I am going to let Morgamic respond about the link to the facebook quiz. I know our vendor was sending over information so we could host the facebook app. Not sure what the current status of this is.
1) The URL http://apps.facebook.com/mozillasecurityquiz will go live once we move this over to Mozilla servers. This is the URL to link to.

Link is added in r54356.
If there's nothing left to do on the development side for this and other bugs, please reassign to "mozwebqa@mozilla.org"; thanks!
Looked at the page in IE 6 and it is broken.

Confirmed. Will fix.
IE6 layout should be fixed in r54363.
How are we doing on this page...can we mark this as fixed?
I think we're all set. Marking as fixed. sdonner can VERIFY.

Are we okay to push this live?
(In reply to comment #22)
> Are we okay to push this live?
We should check in with Sarah to make sure the Facebook quiz is ready first...they'll need to go live at the same time.
No don't push this live yet. We are still waiting for some updated copy for the Facebook quiz and will have to then move it to Mozilla's servers. I'll update when we are ready.
We just finalized the new security image. We should get the final today/tomorrow, so we might as well push everything together and at the same time.

Stand by for the new image.
Illustration now added.

Sarah, can you let us know here when the Facebook quiz is updated? (Should we file a separate bug to track that, even?) Thanks!
I think we should file a separate bug with a dependency for the facebook quiz. Morgamic is the key driver on the Facebook quiz and will let us know when it is updated and on Mozilla servers.
Filed bug 527961; rest of the page looks good, but we'll hold off on verification until that's addressed.
Whiteboard: [QA is waiting on bug 527961, to verify]
Facebook quiz is live. You can push this page out now. Thanks!
Verified FIXED on http://www-3.6.stage.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/security/; note that it'd have to be back-merged with trunk, in order for us to push this newer page version live.

How soon can this be pushed live? We want to make sure people from the quiz are hitting the new security page.
The link to the facebook quiz is incorrect -- it need to link to http://apps.facebook.com/mozillasecurityquiz
I can push this live if someone lets me know the full list of files. (I see a bunch of security-related ones on https://kubla.mozilla.com/queue/prod, but would love to get a confirmation as to what's what first)

Is there anything I need to do here, or are we set?
Also, the IE graphic is still there. It should have been removed and the fb quiz link and the plugins promo should be in there as well.

See: https://www-trunk.stage.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/security/
Umm...Nevermind. Page was cached.

We are set, just waiting on Kubla. I can do it by hand too, if need be.

Thanks Alex! This is an important page - feels great to have it up-to-date again.

Just two notes:

There's a small typo under the Community section "Here's where you come in":
the paragraph starts with "he" instead of "The"

Under the "Outdated plugin detection" section, there's an extra "to":
Firefox will let you know when you have a plugin that’s vulnerable to attack
and direct to you to the right site to get the updated version."
I think the extra "to" is between the "direct to you"

It should read:

Firefox will let you know when you have a plugin that’s vulnerable to attack and direct you to the right site to get the updated version.

Bug re-opened because of comment 47 and 48.

Same text is used for the feaures page as well, so please update there, too.
Just fixed the typos described in comment #47 and comment #48. Made a note on the Features page bug (bug 519777) about comment #49.
